Michigan State University recently began offering courses previously offered at the National Labor College, which is slated for closure this year. This decision could mean the university will be faced with a
$500,000 penalty after the state Senate has decided to ban public universities from offering courses that promote or discourage union organizing. A decision on enforcing the penalty will likely be made in April.
