The Seattle Education Association, the union representing teachers, librarians, and support staff in the Seattle School District, has unanimously
voted to take strike action if a new collective agreement is not reached by next Wednesday, the start of the school year. The union has been negotiating with the school board since May. A description of the issues under negotiation, including wage increases and teacher and staff evaluations, can be found on the union's
website.
