Global News reported over the weekend that support staff at Saanich, BC public schools agreed to a contract that saw pay parity with neighboring districts, the establishment of a retention and recruitment committee, and assurances on job evaluation payments.
The agreement marks the end of a three week strike, during which Saanich teachers refused to cross their coworkers picket line resulting in school closures across the district.
