Today, institutions of higher learning look increasingly like big businesses because corporate boards and administrations have marginalized the most important job on campus -- teaching. We welcome the NLRB ruling as a step towards justice for faculty and the students they teach.

National Labor Relations Board Ruling
The National Labor Relations Board recently ruled that non-tenure track faculty at Pacific Lutheran University are not managerial employees and therefore have the right to unionize. This ruling will impact many private colleges and universities as it included a set of standards for determining if faculty are considered managerial employees. President of the Service Employees International Union said:
