Workers of the National Library of France join the protests against the provisional reform

Workers believe that reforms promoted by Macron are increasingly degrading working conditions and quality of life.

The labor unions of the National Library of France agreed to participate in the demonstrations on December 17 and 18.

The government maintains the unfair point pension system for a large part of the population, especially the younger generations.

-From 2027, the entire population will have to work at least up to 64 years of age so as not to suffer a penalty which will reduce the amount of retirement benefits by 10%.

–For those born from 1975, the reform will well lead to a significant reduction in retirement pensions, indeed the amounts will be calculated, not from the best years and months of wages but over the entire career ( minimum 43 annuities paid, result, at least between -150 and -350 euros per month, some projections speak of double these losses). We are moving from a system of solidarity to an individualized and unequal functioning.

-It will take longer to compensate for the losses induced by this new type of calculation

-The project still provides for the purchase of points, the value of which will be indexed to wages. Problem, the government says that Parliament can change the rules of the game along the way. In Sweden the value of this point has lost 10% in 10 years; As a result, there are now 15.8% of poor retirees in Sweden, twice as many as in France.
