Unions in Public and Academic Libraries.
The role of unions and collective bargaining in U.S public and academic libraries is stated with a summary of
historical development. After noting the lack of national association attention to unionization, the evolution of
the American Library Association-Allied Professional Association (ALA-APA) is described. The connection
between human rights and unions is discussed.
