Organize Your Library -- We need You! Handbook forthcoming in 2024

Organize Your Library -- handbook forthcoming in 2024!

Angelo Moreno, Emily Drabinski, Meredith Kahn, and Kelly McElroy are writing Organize Your Library, a handbook to organizing unions in libraries to be published by the American Library Association in 2024 as part of the Critical Cultural Information Studies Series.

The authors are seeking stories from library unionists to include throughout the book.

Real stories from comrades in all kinds of libraries will bring life to the best practices and challenges. Some of the specific things we’d like to hear about include:

  • Enforcing your contract – Use of a grievance process, outcomes of an arbitration, etc

  • Success stories – What made your campaign work? How have you brought your colleagues together?

  • Challenges – What happened and how have you regrouped?
