Harvard Crimson: Graduate students threaten strike authorization vote

Last Monday, organizers of the Harvard Graduate Student Union-United Automobile Workers presented a letter to Harvard University's negotiation representatives with 300 signatures stating the unions intention to call for a strike authorization vote if Harvard does not change its approach to bargaining, as reported in the Harvard Crimson.

Negotiations between Harvard and HGSU-UAW began last October and have continued through this summer. HGSU-UAW specifically cites the university's negotiators unwillingness to negotiate on harassment and discrimination resolution procedures, wages, and medical benefits.
