German labor union Verdi said that over 2,000 workers at 7 Amazon sites in Germany struck over the company's Prime Day 'holiday', Yahoo! Finance reports.
The workers, walking out under the motto "No more discount on our incomes," serve the second largest Amazon market after the United States.
Since 2013, Amazon has seen strikes by its German workforce over pay and working conditions. Verdi is also calling on Amazon to recognize the collective wage agreements in the retail and mail order sectors. It has also demanded that collective bargaining agreements be made binding across Germany's retail sector.
