McGill Tribune: Faculty of Law vote to strike for climate Sept. 27

McGill Law students voted 93% in favor of striking Friday, September 27 in solidarity with the global student strike for climate, the student paper McGill Tribune has reported. The vote, held by the Law Students Association, saw a general assembly attended by 63.6% of members.

In light of the high participation, McGill law has said it will accommodate students wishing to participate. It was the decision by McGill not to facilitate participation on the September 18 global student strike that prompted the vote by law students, along with a number of votes by other student associations, sought to guarantee the right of students to participate this coming Friday. A number of other Montreal schools have already cancelled classes, McGill still intends to hold classes for those students who do not want to participate.
