Strike at Bolton College
Bolton College was closed on Wednesday as library workers, lecturers, and support staff went on strike amid proposals for a wage freeze. The workers are represented by Unison and University and College Union.

UCU Workers on Strike for Sixth Time
Workers at universities across the UK are on strike once again today. While the majority of the workers involved are participating in a two-hour strike, workers at eleven institutions are striking for a full day due to a decision by administration to dock a full day's pay for anyone participating in the two hour strike. This is the sixth short-term strike that members of University and College Union have been involved in since October. Administration continues to assert that the series of strikes have had "little or no impact" on the institutions involved.

Third One-Day Strike for UK University Workers
Workers at universities across the UK are striking today, the third time members of Unison, Unite, University and College Union, and Educational Institute of Scotland have participated in coordinated strike action. Administration at some of the institutions continue to contend that that there is little support for the strike action.

University and College Union Members Engage in Two-Hour Strike
Members of the University and College Union, which represents librarians and other academic staff at post-secondary institutions across the United Kingdom, engaged in a two-hour strike today. The union had previously engaged in one-day strikes in coordination with other unions representing academic staff in the UK in response to the offer of 1% salary increases. The University and College Union plans on engaging in additional two-hour strikes on January 28 and February 6.

UK University Workers Engage in Second One-Day Strike
Workers at universities across the United Kingdom are engaging in a second one-day strike today, with at least one university closing for the day as a result. University administration has been unwilling to negotiate an increase above the offered 1% pay raise. During October's strike, the administration contended that a small percentage of unionized staff supported the strike.

Workers at Universities Across UK on Strike
Workers represented by Unite, Unison, and the University and College Union are engaging in a coordinated strike today over an offered 1% pay raise, which has followed a "five-year pay drought", according to a Unite official.
