Staff at UBC Okanagan ratify new agreement

Staff at UBC Okanagan in Kelowna have voted 100 percent in favour of a new collective agreement, the B.C. Government and Service Employees’ Union (BCGEU) announced today.

The four year-agreement, which expires June 30, 2010, provides for an average 10 percent wage increase as well as other bonuses, including a $3,700 signing bonus (pro-rated for part-time and auxiliary employees).

The BCGEU represents approximately 170 staff who work in clerical, facilities, food service, library, support services, technical, trades, research, and teaching assistance.
