UAW Research Library Closed

In disheartening news, the United Auto Workers have shut down their own Research Library and its unionized staff (represented by OPEIU) have either been re-assigned or laid-off.  This is a double blow to the profession as it represents the loss of an imporant research resource and it directly relates to the union movement in its subject and governance.

  1. How could our Boston Public Library be persuaded to pull together an historical exhibition on local unions, collective bargaining, labor relations?...

  2. If it did I see RUSA John Sessions Award in the future.

  3. I would suggest getting in touch with the librarians at your local branch. The branch-level librarians are usually the most in touch with community needs and could be a valuable ally in shaping library programs and exhibitions.
