Gary Library update

AFSCME and the Gary Library have come to an agreement that sees 14 library workers laid-off and about $500,000 cut from the library budget.  AFSCME local official Ana Perez seemed pleased to get the scraps from management's table, saying of the meetings with the board committee: “That’s all we asked for was to let us participate.”  So AFSCME got to participate and still suffered the lay-offs that the board called for and a budget cut.  But that's ok, because AFSCME got a participation medal out of it.
