Grand Rapids (MI) Library lay-offs

The proposed budget for the Grand Rapids (MI) Library will call for laying off 14 library workers (from a total of 165) to make up for falling property taxes.  This comes after the union representing library workers, the Grand Rapids Employees Independent Union, already made concessions to the city in light of budget cuts.  No word on what concessions management has made, likely because they have made absolutely none.
