The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics has released its annual union membership survey. Among the findings:

  • Individuals working in education, training, and library occupation had the highest unionization rate among occupational groups (Table 3)
  • In 2012, 39.2% of individuals working in education, training, and library occupations were represented by unions, down from 40.5% in 2011 (Table 3)
  • The overall union membership rate for 2012 was 11.3%
