PR Watch: Lincoln Network launches platform aimed to encourage union opt-outs

In an article originally published at Documented, PR Watch reports that the Lincoln Network, a right wing non-profit founded in 2015 and part of the State Policy Network (SPN), has launched a technology platform and related campaign encouraging teachers and other public sector workers to opt-out of their unions following last years Janus v. AFSCME decision.

The platform, Edunity, seeks to entice union members through discounts at big name retailers to opt-out of union membership using the platforms advertised opt-out feature that reportedly handles the process for workers looking to leave their union.

This launch is the latest in a years long campaign by SPN to sap union strength and drain unions of membership nationally. Workers in both unionized and non-unionized work spaces should be aware of such campaigns and be prepared to raise arguments against such tactics.
