Vox: Google Cafeteria Workers Unionize

Vox reports that 2,300 cafeteria workers across dozens of Google campuses voted to unionize with Unite Here last month after a two year campaign. The workers are part of Google's vast workforce of contracted workers and are part of the Silicon Valley population who have seen pay decrease while cost of living has increased since 1997. Workers say that, despite Google's success, they remain overworked and underpaid while also dealing with regular disrespect and even racism from management.
