"'It's Long Overdue." Worthington Library (Ohio) staff votes to organize with Ohio Federation of Teachers.

Library staff  of the Worthington libraries, a public library system  in Worthington, Ohio  (a city in Franklin County, northern suburb of the larger Columbus) have organized as WPLUnited with the Ohio Federation of Teachers.

The three-branch Worthington system has 180 employees when fully staffed.

An "overwhelming majority" of Worthington library employees signed union cards, copies of which were delivered to Worthington's library management, according to the teacher's union. The original cards will be  filed with SERB to request voluntary recognition of the union, according to a statement from the union.

This is the first library in Ohio to organize in this union.

Go to the WPLUnited website for more information.
