Mirror: UK teachers threaten strike over forced return amid nation's expanding COVID crisis

The Sunday Mirror reported that teachers unions and their unions across the UK were considering a strike should the Tory government attempt to force them back into the classroom after the holidays as the country's COVID crisis has rapidly deteriorated amidst the rapid spreading of a new strain of the virus.

Such a dramatic decision was rendered moot following Prime Minister Johnson's decision to place the nation under a third lockdown which closed all primary and secondary schools as well as colleges begining today.

The last minute reversal by the government which had sought to force open all primary schools on Monday and all secondary schools next week will do little to deflect accusations by the labor unions of ignoring science and throwing families into a state of chaos amid multiple quick reversals being made by the Department for Education. The Labour Party, further, has accused the government of creating chaos for families while the Liberal Democrat Party labeled the governments reaction as "Tory top down, Wesminster-knows-best" leading to last minute and inconsistent plans that are throwing lives into chaos.
